A brief history of weight and exercise
In 2016, I hovered around 80-85kg (175-180lbs). A year prior, I was near 90kg (200lbs). In 2017, I lost a bit of weight and was maybe 70-80kg (160s-170s). Now I am anywhere from 70-73kg, depending on the day. I've experimented with my body and with different strategies for weight loss, as weight has always been a problem. Of Asian heritage, there is an increased risk of certain diseases- hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other weight-related illnesses (1). And, in honesty, my body has exhibited those signs too. When I was overweight, I dealt with gout, hypertension, high blood pressure, and was medicated on it. I have dealt with anxiety and other things that either compounded the problem or related to it. In essence, it was essential to lose weight. I've experimented with different kinds of diets.
